About the Book
We have received recipes from every part of the club – from rising stars to veterans of many seasons, from mums and dads, from those new to the club and from those who are part of the fixtures and fittings. We have new recipes and club favourites. I am delighted too that we have recipes from some no longer with us who have handed down their recipes for us to continue enjoying. It has been a tough choice but, in the end, I looked for a balanced selection.
There are recipes for every occasion. Spring recipes to accompany those first outdoor nets of the year, when you try to remind yourself what a cover drive looks like. Recipes for sunny days, long innings and the smell of summer barbecues. Autumn recipes to take away the chill from fielding at deep fine leg in the half light of late September. Recipes for winter evenings, when the snow is on the ground, and cricket is a distant memory. And not one duck recipe....
There are recipes to fuel that long-dreamt flawless century. Spicy starters to give the fast bowlers that extra yard of pace. Entrees to slow the over rate down as you wait for rain. And some of the desserts , puddings and cakes lend new meaning to the term ‘all-rounder’.
It’s time to put down the bats and pick up the pans.
Enjoy!
