About the Book
This book is the result of two weeks of traveling in Bangladesh.
Our goal was to visit Rishilpi Development Project, a rehabilitationcentre, in the city of Satkira, in the south-east of this over-populated country. This project is sponsored by the foundation 'In de bres voor Bangladesh'.
The last 12 photos in this book were taken at Rishilpi.
We also visited the capital Dhaka, the city Kuhlna, the Sundarbarns and other places. During this inspiring trip I took over 800 photos.
Over 150 million people are living in Bangladesh, 1045 people per square metre. Bangladesh is one of the most overpopulated countries in the world. No wonder I made so many photos of people. (Normally I make photos of buildings and interiors.)
By making this book, with photos of Bengalis, I can show you a part of the story of Bangladesh.
