About the Book
A bioblitz is a sort of biological inventory jamboree, with taxonomic experts from across the country convening on a particular spot for around a day or so to document as many species as possible. JE Canyon Ranch, the Colorado Natural Heritage Program, and Denver Botanic Gardens joined forces to conduct the first southeast Colorado Canyonlands bioblitz on June 10, 2010. Over 50 participants gathered on the JE Canyon Ranch for a 24 hour bioblitz with the goal of documenting as many species as possible. Biologists and ranchers searched the nooks and grannies of the ranch and documented over 865 species! This is a summary of the JE Canyon bioblitz told with numerous photographs.
