About the Book
The author has spent a varied and interesting career in international shipping and logistics, during which time he travelled a great deal. He and his wife Celia also visited many interesting countries on holiday, especially in the Far East.
Vernon retired early from corporate life at the age of 50 and had a second career as a self-employed consultant, his final assignment being Town Initiatives Manager for the market town of Alton in Hampshire, one which he describes as probably the most rewarding of his career. He also became a radio presenter in his spare time.
In this book, a follow-up to his first publication entitled "My Ancestry", he describes some of the places he visited and relates some of the amusing and fascinating anecdotes about his life.
He has now retired to Spain, where he lives in the town of Orba, on the side of a valley filled with orange groves, in the north of the Costa Blanca.
