ASHLEY, PhD (Princeton), LHD (Columbia Theological) is professor emeritus of Brooklyn College of The City University of New York and the author of dozens of books on language and literature, folklore and popular culture, military history, etc. His most recently published works include Last Days (the history of apocalyptic prediction), Animal Crackers (light verse), Language in Action, and with Ola J. Holten of Sweden Nordic Folklore and Tradition. His eleven authoritative books on the occult are available in US and UK editions and some have appeared in Dutch, German, and Italian translations.
