About the Book
After arriving thanks to weaving in between cars, buses, and the crazy Bangkok traffic, I found myself next to the stage, photographing the dancers, performers, and singers which made up the entertainment for the evening's celebration, as they exited the stage. They were happy to pose for my camera.
The second day I found no dancers in traditional costumes, for it was to honor the people in uniform such as the police, nurses, civil workers, the navy, and others. A much different feeling than day one.
These are the portraits of those very culturally interesting two days of celebrations that took place in Bangkok, Thailand to honor the Queen of Thailand, the wife of King of Thailand Bhumibol Adulyadej, Somdet Phra Nang Chao Sirikit Phra Borommarachininat, on her day of birth.
In Thailand, Her Majesty's birthday is also when the country celebrates Mother's Day.
