About the Book
Indra is a collection of images taken throughout amazing, spiritual and undefinable India. I was very lucky to visit five main areas, New Delhi, Dharamsala, Benares, Sarnath and Bodh Gaya. These places are of very high significance to Buddhists, pilgrims travel from all over the world to visit.
Dharamsala is where His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and the Tibetan Refugee community reside. It is situated in the North, in the beginning of the Himalayas. Trekking for even a few days in the mountains leaves one in awe of the natural beauty. The locals live in small villages or as nomadic mountain shepherds. Benares and Sarnath are where the Buddha first expounded his teachings. Bodh Gaya is the site where he sat under the bodhi tree and gained enlightenment. Delhi needs no introduction and is as busy and chaotic as I had imagined.
