About the Book
Connie Spittler won national recognition as a writer/producer of film and video. Her Wise Women Video Series is archived at Harvard University’s Arthur and Elizabeth Schlesinger Library on the History of Women in America. Connie's award winning essays, short stories and poetry appear in anthologies, such as What Wildness Is This, Women Write About the Southwest; The Art of Living, Chicken Soup, Sowing the Seeds, Healthy Aging and Cup of Comfort. Other pieces appear in journals, magazines, newspapers and on radio podcasts.
Bob Spittler is an award winning cinematographer, videographer and editor, who now focuses on still photography. He uses his Nikon camera to capture the Southwest. Bob edits, prints on canvas and stretches his work as singles, triptychs, or five panel pieces. His giclee photography is exhibited in Midwestern and Southwestern galleries. One of his five panel representations was featured in the 2007 Tucson Art Museum Biennial.
The husband and wife team live in Tucson, Arizona. Connie’s essays and Bob’s photography existed separately, until they realized that their individual pieces worked in harmonious counterpoint. They partnered to produce this book on The Desert Eternal
