About the Book
My philosophy toward photography is to create a visually, graphically and psychologically striking image. I seek to transform it beyond the obvious to higher level of visual consciousness.
My intention is not to document objects but to see them in a new context. Although I think of photography as more ”real” than the other visual arts, it allow
transformation of “reality” in ways I find interesting. In fact, it is more effective than reality would have been, because in the picture, the nonessential and conflicting interests have been eliminated.
Although my work may move closer to other visual arts, it remains purely photographic in its final form. I attempt to convince viewer that a certain world might actually exist in which the familiar objects around us are somehow transformed and live together in ways we can see only through the work of the artist.
These elements when combined together become an extension of my eye and mind, enabling me to express ideas and emotion. I combine on one print objects, information, and suggestion that were in reality removed in space and time.
