About the Book
The artist photographed the Hamilton Building during construction between early 2004 and the opening of the building in the autumn of 2006. This building is the first design of architect Daniel Libeskind to be constructed in America.
Over the course of 45 sessions Boak took 952 photographs. 37 of the photos appear in the book and its cover. It was his intention from his first view of the site to make paintings of what he saw. The five oil paintings he created between 2005 and 2007 are shown in the last pages of this book.
