About the Book
If you ask a tourist what is so typically Dutch, he will tell you about the tulips, windmills and wooden shoes. Nowadays the maturity of the Dutch isn't wearing clogs anymore and tulips are originally from Turkey but those things are related to the Dutch culture through the eyes of a foreigner. Also related to the Dutch culture is water, such as the IJsselmeer, Wadden Sea, North Sea Coast and of course the fight against it by building dikes and the “Delta works”.
The flat landscape is defined by cows and sheep where green meadows are stitched as a carpet.
Other things tourists will think of are traditional Dutch cheese and Delft blue pottery.
All those aspects form a tourist perspective are presented in this book as a colourful photographic impression of Holland.
