About the Ebook
This book is a collection of writings from an occasional blog written by the author. It is based on research from a longer manuscript about women writers who lived in or had other links with the South-west of England - mostly, but not all, from Devon. Some of the pieces are short and light, others contain much in-depth and original research. . The author discusses their lives and talks about some of their writing and the book is illustrated throughout with photos - nearly all taken by Julie Sampson. There are also a few poems, all mostly about the women writers discussed.

South-West England
My poetry collection Tessitura was published by Shearsman in 2013. I edited Mary Lady Chudleigh, Selected Poems, for Shearsman. Currently I am completing a book about Devon's Women Writers. I also publish papers in journals - my paper on the Devonian writer Anne Dowriche came out in the Devonshire Association's Transactions in 2010. Many of my poems are published online and in a wide variety of magazines and poetry anthologies. I gained a PhD on the writer H.D. at the University of Exeter and until I ended employment to work as independent writer I worked widely through the south-west as music teacher and lecturer in literature and creative writing.
