About the Book
During the summers of 2009 and 2011 the author travelled to this remote part of NE Russia to study and photograph the regions wildlife.This book is a photographic reference to these journeys and contains about 350 good quality images, and documents over 100 species. Many of the species photographed in this book are rarely seen away from this region particuarly in breeding plumage. Some of the rare or localised species included in the book are Aleutian Tern, Siberian Rubythroat,Kamchatka Leaf Warbler, Red-legged Kittiwake, Fork-tailed Storm Petrel. Steller's Sea Eagle,Spectacled Guillimot and various Auks, Emporer Goose and Great Knot to name but a few, and is one of only a few books to contain images of the critically endangered Spoon-billed Sandpiper on its breeding grounds. Also includes some scenery over 10 species of mammal and various plants.
