I was born in India and raised in Scotland and Zambia. I trained in medicine at Aberdeen University, graduating 1979. Most of my working career was in psychiatry, latterly specialising in dementia. My interests are in photography, kayaking, mountain biking, bonsai and travelling to European countries. I can speak Spanish, Greek, German and French at intermediate level
