About the Book
An inspiring and heart warming story of the journey of Omer Mohamed, an illiterate nomad from Sudan, who came to the US under the United Nations Refugee program to seek medical treatment when his leg had to be amputated after an attack on his tribe. With great determination and faith in God, he learned a new language, to read and write, graduated with a high school diploma, and was recently sworn in as an American citizen. He dictated his story to American friend, Kathleen, so a book could be sent to his family to help them understand where he is and what he has accomplished.
