About the Book
This year's annual report looks into how science fiction and even healthcare fraud and quackery have led to innovations in medicine and technology. We will examine the larger cultural and historical context of our achievements such as male pregnancy and the artificial womb; how the perceived authority of hospitals and physicians have changed over the years; and the social implications resulting from the greater control we increasingly exert over our bodies, health, and reproductive capabilities.
The intention of this short book is simply to begin discussing these ideas about contemporary medicine and establishing the framework for a much larger cross-disciplinary investigation by our institution. A special feature about our new pharmaceutical relationship with the Nervardis Corporation is also included here – along with images from this past year's interactive media exhibitions in art galleries in Reno and New York that celebrate the latest accomplishments of RYT Hospital-Dwayne Medical Center.
