Four years in the making, this body of work exposes the alternative fetish world in its most vulnerable moments. The Ugly Truth - behind the LA Fetish scene, contains 118 color photographs, documenting intimate details of the behind the scenes world of fetish in DTLA. This work focuses on the current prominent figures, such as Billy Antiseptic of Antiseptic Fashion, Miss Crash, suspension artist, Ulorin Vex international fetish model and porn stars: Asphyxia Noir, Skin Diamond and Indigo Augustine.

“Its all about the details in the raw.” says Aaron Hawks photographer and installation artist. “ I have been drawing inspiration from these people for years in order to make my own art and installations. Through this process, I have realized that photographing them being themselves was a whole body of work that is just as important.”
