About the Book
This is a well illustrated coffee table publication of 120 pages with 485 colour and black and white images of British Gymnasts from the past and present. It celebrates the history of the sport in the UK but focusses mainly on the current generation of stars. The three Olympic disciplines of Gymnastics are covered - Artistic, Rhythmic and Trampoline - and one section features unique 'behind the scenes' images of national squad gymnasts in training. The book is also available as an e book for iPads and iPhones. The majority of the photography is by Eileen Langsley, taken over a period of thirty five years. Text is written by Vera and John Atkinson whose expert overview places current achievements in the context of the system and organisation of the sport in Britain. With the approach of the 2012 London Olympic Games, the book is well placed to commemorate this special time in the sporting history of British Gymnastics.
