About the Book
I've always loved taking pictures of nature. So when I acquired my first SLR like digital camera I went out the backdoor of my house and started learning how to use it. In the process I realized anew the wonderment of nature that was so nearby. I always knew it was there, but like anything seen all the time, I had in a way stopped seeing it.
Then I thought it would be neat to see what I could see within the boundaries of my property and within a single years time and keep a log of what I saw. Admittedly some of the photos in this log were taken after that one years time, but only for a better picture of something I already had. There were many, many things of which I saw but by the time I grabbed the camera and / or could focus it, the thing was gone.
My house is in the suburbs of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Its an older neighborhood with lots of trees around it. I set out some seed for the birds and a dish or two of water for them too. Like most I keep things mowed and generally tidy. However, I'm a person who also lets nature 'volunteer' to grow and thus my yard isn't exactly typical. So I've had some unusual visitors as you'll see herein.
Enjoy!
