On June 4th 2012 Emmer Green Residents' Association hosted a Picnic in the Park to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee. It was the first time such an event had been held in the park since her Coronation. A number of community groups, young performers and a jazz band took part. The book is a souvenir of the day comprising photos taken by local people.
