About the Creator
Stuart Peel
Beaconsfield, Western Australia
Photography is the mechanism through which I see the world. I was given my first camera by my uncle when I was 6 years old. A Kodak 127 Brownie, it had smooth edges and was made of fashionable brown Bakelite. I quickly discovered the joy of getting lost in the viewfinder and exploring a world with sharply defined edges. While I learned photography in the days of film and still use medium and large format cameras for black and white work, these days I find myself most often using digital cameras. But whatever the camera, the excitement I felt all those years ago returns every time I put a camera to my eye.
