About the Book
The images presented in the book reveal a wide variety of contemporary digital photography from the elegant images combining jewelry and nature by Christina Tisi-Kramer to the quiet urban observations by Jun Won Yoh and the identity exploring composite images by Sean Basil McGiver. Much of the work embraces New York City as its subject, from the abstract panoramas by Allen Furbeck, to the quirky model composites of Nick Himmel, and as seen in the ‘NY Street Style’ fashion studies of Ben Bobkoff and the textured ‘Like Water’ images by June Young Lim. Both David Lehman and Kristy May used a photo documentary approach in their respective projects of South East Asia and Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Andria Philips and Na Yeon Jin address aspects of glamour and fashion in completely divergent ways. Both Heayeon Yoon and Brendan Austin take a conceptual approach to explore the artistic potential of digital technology with her images portraying suicide and his landscape project titled ‘Sleeping Mountain’.
