The families I visited in summer 2008 live in the roma enclaves in the serbian villages called Lapnesello, Preace and the town Gracanica. They are about 7 kilometers away from Kosovos main town Pristina which is dominated by the albanian population.

About the Creator
Nathalie Mohadjer was born in Kassel in 1979. She studied Visual Communication at the Bauhaus-University, Weimar and photography at the Universitaet fuer angewandte Kunst, Vienna. Her work has been exhibited in several exhebitions such as at the Gaswerk, Berlin; Villa von Duerkheim, Weimar; GDK Gallery of fine Arts, Berlin; European New Year, Amsterdam; Kaunas Foto Festival, Lithuania; Galerie Chambre à Part, Strasbourg, Goetheinstitut Lyon etc. Her work has been published in Camera Austria, Port Magazine, NEO2 Magazine, New York Times, Sueddeutsche Magazin, Brand Eins etc. In 2005 she was a member of the Asia Europe Forum for Young Photographers, Maison Europeenne de la Photographie, Paris. In february 2008 she has received a DAAD Travelscollarship for Kosovo. She lives and works in Paris.
