About the Book
This 98-page edition centers on the early years of CSX (1987-1993) which also includes the Baltimore & Ohio and the Chessie System. Beginning in Cumberland we'll travel down the Potomac River Valley to Cherry Run, then cross the Potomac River for Hagerstown and head east on the old Western Maryland Railway's Lurgan Sub to Shippensburg. Also included is the bucolic South Branch Valley Railroad, Amtrak's Capitol Limited during the years of the F40s and Dome Cars with the Amtrak ICE Train, the Berkeley Springs Branch and the aftermath of the devastating head on collision of two Chessie System freight trains at Orleans Road. This book is available in hardcover with dust jacket and softcover and is printed on Blurb's "Premium Paper with Lustre Finish" for crisp, clear photography. You can visit my website at www.westernmarylandrailway.com for more information on this book and all of my other editions with the first one debuting in 2010.
