The book is based on the theme of doors and windows which were photographed by the author during his travels in Europe. The surfaces of these doorways and windows within their walls, have frequently been weathered by time and climate, whilst others are included because of their unusual shapes and colours. Included in the book are the objects that are associated with them, such as wrought iron frames, balconies, door-knockers, letterboxes, shutters, etc.
