About the Book
Constable John Robert Davey (1845-1892) was shot and killed on his first day as a special constable in Cornwall, Ontario. Justice was swift and Davey's killer was hanged a few months later. In the years following, Davey's story was forgotten, his grave unmarked and his sacrifice unknown. In 2010 Sergeant Thom Racine of the Cornwall police set out to correct this neglect. Starting in Cornwall, and researching through numerous American states and even into Mexico, he identified Davey descendants and brought the story together for them, with hilarious conclusions, incredible coincidences, spooky outcomes and sometimes shocking results. Many photos and a family story like no other.
