About the Creator
Maggie Steber is an internationally acclaimed documentary photographer who has worked in 72 countries for publications including National Geographic Magazine, The New York Times, and many other magazines around the world. She is a Pulitzer Prize finalist twice and a Guggenheim Foundation Fellow. Steber has received many grants and her work is included in the Library of Congress among others. Steber worked over a 30-year period in Haiti and Aperture published her book entitled DANCING ON FIRE. Rite of Passage is a self-published book on her mother as she went through the melancholy voyage of memory loss. It was made into a film by Media Storm. Steber has been a photo editor and a director of photography. She teaches around the world and is a judge for many competitions.
