About the Book
Water Birth
There is something that happens standing in a cold freshwater stream, listening, waiting and wondering. I am lost. The passage of time slows, sounds become visible, the visible becomes cryptic and my intention of catching a fish proves insignificant. Through this collection of work, a pursuit of passion, I illustrate my life as it is closely twined to water, fishing, and the common cycles of growth and transformation. It is simply my way, through wandering trickles and torrents, wielding fly rod and camera, that I relate an awareness of origin and inspiration. My water birth. These photographs are part metaphoric, part journalistic and largely a collection of moments and wonder which, when patched together mirror a vitality that I know is present in all.
