About the Book
On November 10, 2008 teachers and students from all over the San Francisco Bay area converged on the Ramsell Holding Corporation office building in Oakland to deliver some of the finest art yet submitted to the third annual "Don't Turn Your Back on AIDS" high school awareness art competition. The judges for this year had their work cut out for them as the quality of all submissions were superb!
Official Judges
Barbara Henry - Chief Curator of Education, Oakland Museum
Stephanie Cannizzo - Curatorial Associate, Berkeley Art Museum
Susan Walton - DTYBOA Veteran Art Teacher
Ann Trinca - Bedford Gallery, Walnut Creek
As this event has grown over the past three years, we have been able to reach out to over five thousand high school art students and challenge them to express what they learn from our program through their art. Every year the submissions touch our hearts and souls and provide real representation of how this disease can affect all of us.
This year the Flowers Heritage Foundation has decided to publish the winning art in a high quality photo book so others can have this art move them as it has done the members of the Flowers Heritage Foundation, the judges of the contest, the employees of Ramsell Holding Corporation and its subsidiaries, and the guests that attend the annual event. We know it will move you as well so please recommend this book to a friend.
100% of the profits go to help patients!

NOTE ABOUT EXTENDED EDITION
In this extended edition of The Flowers Heritage Foundation's "Don't Turn Your Back on AIDS 2008 Awareness Through Art" coffee table book we are including all of the fine works submitted. You will see from the pages that follow that the students that participated are a talented group of young men and women that have worked very hard to capture the full range of emotion and impact that AIDS brings. We hope you enjoy viewing them as much as we do and that in some small way the images included and the feeling they emote bring you to a deeper understanding of the individuals that suffer as a result of this disease. Finally please remember that by purchasing this book you have helped save another person. All the profits from this book go directly to our program participants. Not one cent is spent for salaries, office rent, equipment or other requirements of the staff of the foundation. All of those costs and requirements are either underwritten, or supplied by Ramsell Holding Corporation or its subsidiaries.
