About the Book
In their first collaborative project, visual artists Victoria Scott and Scott Kildall have built a public interactive installation that situates the psychology of online social networks (MySpace, Friendster, etc.) into the physical world.
This artwork, entitled 2x2, consists of two components: a messaging board placed in a public space and a series of large-scale photographic compositions of the resulting messages.
Passersby were invited to write or draw on a 2"x2" Post-it note, roll-up the paper and insert it into a hole of a vertical grid of pegboard, for others to read. Various themes emerged from the gathered detritus and these were categorized into compositional groupings.
