About the Ebook
It is said that every person has at least one book hidden away inside just waiting to be written.
For me 'One Ride on the Flyer' was my book that had to be written.
I mulled it over in my mind for years itching to start but afraid that I would start and not be able to carry the story to a logical conclusion.
Prior to writing 'One Ride on the Flyer' I had enjoyed some success with short stories and poetry both in competitions and in magazines but the enormity of writing a complete novel was a daunting prospect.
Suddenly half way through the first chapter the characters took over and I experienced for the first time the exhilarating feeling of writing a novel. It was like living in two worlds, my own every day world and sharing another life and another world with my characters.
Little did I know that this feeling would start an obsession spanning over 20 years (with breaks during those years) or that it would be the first of more than 20 titles.
Written in 1990 and read again in 2012
It made me smile and it made me cry.
The story has so much emotion tucked away in its pages that I wanted to share it with you my readers in the hope that you would find the same emotional experience and rediscover the sheer joy of reading a book written from the heart. It is interesting too to note the author emerging and the text flowing as the story progresses.
As I mentioned earlier this is my first novel which I have read again after more than 22 years. In the pages I experienced cameo visits from my own life and that of my family and friends not as themselves or myself but little snippets and pieces which fitted into my story. Some friends and family will no doubt recognise themselves or at least their actions.
I loved the spontaneity and innocence of the manuscript which I present to you as original and unchanged and I now invite you
to sit back, relax and enjoy this unique experience.
