About the Book
This book represents my photographic look at when the old meets new. Laurentian Architecture has since its humble beginnings in the minds and hearts of local community boosters sought to transform Sudbury by adding new cultural layers, through academics, demographics and economics. This is the genius of the Architecture school. As photographer I spent that last year, listening to ideas of change, of growth and expansion, I wanted to document it. As a photographer and historian I was given the opportunity to explore the old CP Telegraph Building at the corner of Elgin and Elm to document the transition from an empty building to the Faculty offices for Laurentian Architecture. My motive for documentation was to explore the building before it's transformation. I wanted to record its story in Downtown Sudbury, to explore its unique design, but most importantly to document its story for those who will never experience it.
