About the Book
To bridge a mile wide gap filled with a rushing river and boiling sea seemed an impossibility, but in the early 20th century men made plans to do just that. The craftsmen and laborers who brought the dream to life were blinded by fog and lashed by howling winds and rain. Working hundreds of feet above the water, they also had to conquer fear. Some of them died proving it could be done. This is the story of the Golden Gate bridge, completed 75 years ago.
