About the Book
Descr. The small village, New Ayoma, Ghana, lives from cacao production. As the state buyers keep the prize of cacao low and the production is not high, the village remains poor. Ghana produces 14% of the total production of the world's cocoa. In spite of this glowing achievement cocoa farmers receive a very little percentage of the revenue.
I photographed the people of Ayoma in their own natural environment. Most old people are happy in their simple daily rhythm, but the youngsters dream of a life in the big capital.
This project is about economy but also about values in life. Villages, the smallest economic unity disappear globally.
