About the Book
"Lord, make me an instrument of your peace." Thus begins this beautiful prayer, a meditation to expand peace in the world, beginning with one's self. Originally published in 1912 in a small French magazine, this prayer has been known by several names, from the original "Belle prière à faire pendant la messe" to the "Prayer of St. Francis." Photographer Mary Lee Dereske's images compliment each phrase, creating a prayer book to be treasured and returned to again and again.

Welcome! My books intertwine a love of photography with contemplation, wisdom, and the beauty of life. I'm a native daughter of Michigan, now living in New Mexico. The two places are like apples and oranges. I love them both.
