About the Book
These books contain information related to church artefacts and style within the county of East Sussex. Volume 2 deals with those in Wealden District and contains church buildings of a variety of denominations as well as those made redundant or otherwise in private ownership. Subjects covered include stained glass, wood and stone carvings, decorations and fittings such as pulpits and fonts together with a short history. Specialist subjects include essays on Pelham "buckles", Harmer terracottas and tapsell gates. Emphasis is on pictorial aspects of the subjects and is illustrated with almost 650 photographs. In addition there are suggested routes around the district as well as information on times when churches can be visited as well as where to find out more information on each location.
