A successful career in science has made me appreciate the importance of the journey that young children undertake to learn to read. The Say Hello to Haffy series has been developed to help foster the love of reading and books in young children. It is also designed to take children to what lies beyond their own suburb or town. Children can learn about Australia as they are learning to read. Let's help our children go through the exciting journey of "learning to read" so they can start to "read to learn".
