About the Book
Ingrid Bockting is a Dutch illustrator working in the capital city of Holland:
Amsterdam. On the topfloor of half a century old office building she can look
over the old city’s rooftops untill the Damsquare.
Ingrid has been graduated from the artschool in graphic design with a
recommandation in illustration in a small town at the German border.
Once she got a grant from the Dutch Artfoundation she immediately headed
over to Amsterdam and started illustrating for newspapers and magazines.
During Ingrids career her work became increasingly feminine in style.
Amongst many other fashion magazines, her work appears monthly in
Glamour magazine, ever since the first issue. Also she designed a pile
of book covers for big publishing houses. All made to be read by young
and fashionable woman. Making part of this business, as a designer she
developed a special eye and sense for this specific market.
The shapes, movement and drama of fashion is a great inspiration in Ingrids
illustrations, a dress can make or break the whole illustration.
Combining this motion with graphic plain, quiet surfaces and clear
typography in a carefully selected colorpalet makes an illustration totally
Ingrid Bockting’s.
Besides appearing in many magazines and different bookcovers Ingrid is
also designing corporate styles, such as business cards and websites, always
keeping the femine touch. Her latest personal project is called We Made
Shawls; large blooming illustrations printed on 100% silk.
