About the Book
When, 30 years ago, my boss and mentor Jaroslav Fric told me that artistic understanding of the world is as accurate and valid as the scientific one, I was skeptical and considered that as a hyperbole. Now, 30 years later, I agree.
Even though I did my homework and prepared for what I was about to see in Antarctica, I was still overwhelmed by the sheer presence and majestic beauty of the landscape, wilderness, and wildlife.
One must experience first-hand the scale of dimensions, the hues, and the unusual smell of the breeze and sea water to fully grasp what Antarctica is.
