Editor’s Note

How do you deal with life; the ups and the downs, or even the moments of “nothingness”? I didn’t. I didn’t deal. I would let my inability to deal with life take away my ability to live! But then, I found a friend who helped me realize that I needed a way to get my feelings out. She formed a group called “Poetstuffers” and I found an outlet, a way to get it all out! I will forever be grateful to Kimberlynne Darby Newton for being that friend.

Let me tell you about us. We are a small, honest and loving group from many countries all over the globe. We are a poetry-family. We laugh, we cry, we love, and yes……we are known to argue. Most importantly, we share our lives with one another through the written word. This is our second book. “Poetstuffers an Anthology” was published last year.

A whole year has gone by and we have all opened up in a way that I felt should be shared with the world. This book is laid out in chapters based on challenges we did as a group. During the process of working on this book, we have had many losses. A few of us have lost family members and a few of us have experienced some traumatic illnesses and events in our lives that overtook the already daily challenges we face every day. Even if it was in a small way, this project gave us all something to look forward to, a few moments of fun or a way to express our fears and pain.

I love my “Poetstuffer” family and know that in the grand scheme of things, there was a reason we were all brought together. Perhaps, each one of us just needed an……………Awakening.
