About the Book
The book is organized in chronological order by each day of the hike from the Oregon/California border to the Oregon/Washington border. The trip began on July 16th, 2007 and concluded on August 14th. The organization presents my planned-in-advance itinerary for each day first, and each is immediately followed by a corresponding journal entry I made on the day I was actually in that location. The itinerary I prepared for each day was based on maps, my own understanding of the terrain, and information I retrieved from various websites. the journal entry for each describes my personal observations and experiences.
The narrative is complemented by pictures I and others took during the trip. The camera I used was a Fuji Film FinePix F 30, which is a 6.3 mega pixel compact digital camera. It was light and I carried it on the front harnesss of my backpack for easy access.
