In the spring of 2014, as part of my senior project at Prescott College, I traveled to Kyrgyzstan with my mom to work with a women's craft cooperative. During our two weeks in the country, we visited ten different cooperatives in nine different towns and villages. This book offers a glimpse into the history and culture of Kyrgyzstan as I share what I learned about, and from, the country's beautiful, strong craftswomen. The proceeds from this book will help to support the Asylzat Craft Cooperative in its mission to provide educational and income opportunities for disadvantaged girls and women in the community.
