About the Book
Outfitted with sketchy knowledge of toy design at best and a hand-me-down sewing machine, I began designing plushies back in 2005, naming my little company Beeper Bebe.
The basic tenets of Beeper Bebe plushie design were to incorporate thrifted and reclaimed materials in each design--largely focusing on natural fibers like wool and cashmere--and to design for kids first and foremost. An Etsy shop, a well-populated Flickr account and a blog soon followed.
This book offers an overview of Beeper Bebe plushie designs from 2005-2008 and each design's inspiration--covering everything from Bitty Bebes (teeny little baby dolls with teeny little accessories), to Babies on a Stick (a rattle) and the multitude of Mangy Menagerie designs--and many more.
If you are a Beeper Bebe fan, or just looking for some plushie inspiration, this book might be for you (who can say? You decide.). Or, if you are part of my family or one of my friends, you might also want a copy for some unfathomable reason.
Whatever the case, you can read more about Beeper Bebe and the mundacities of my life at chezbeeperbebe.blogspot.com

About the Creator

I handmake plushies from secondhand stuff. Sometimes I make other stuff like bibs or greeting cards too. Mostly, I am just a crafty-mutha who digs designing things--especially toys. I was nominated for a Softie Award in 2008, have been featured in an interview on the Plush You website, was in the 2008 Plush You gallery show in Seattle, and have had my designs featured in Minneapolis-Saint Paul Magazine.
