In Bodies, Coombs creates anonymous abstract nudes, reminiscent of Irving Penn’s Earthly Bodies. Coombs manages to create catalogue-like images of the human figure as if it were furniture photographed by Richard Avedon. Stripping away sexuality and leaving the body as the material of sculpture.
