About the Book
The creation of this book was a group project of the M. W. Fred Kirby Bauer Class for the Masonic Leadership Institute of Massachusetts.
The contents of the book document Lodges and Lodge buildings located in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts under the jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons. Photographs were sourced by individual Lodges but many were taken by the Pagemakers Team, creators of this book.
Official addresses were provided from information within Grand Lodge publications, and in some cases, from the publications of individual Lodges. Institution dates and meeting nights were also taken from available information provided by Grand Lodge. In the case of merged Lodges, the oldest available date was usually used.
We have attempted to be as accurate as possible, but also understand there may be some inaccuracies. Some Lodges changed locations after the project was in production – we have attempted to indicate this in the book, but may not have been able to change the actual location.
We hope this book will help promote Lodges and Masonry throughout the Commonwealth, provide a historical snapshot in time and help traveling Brothers locate Lodges he may never have attended.
Enjoy.
