About the Book
Watkins Motor Lines, Inc., Thomasville, Georgia, was a refrigerated company. Watkins had company trucks, but was primarily an owner-operator company. Watkins had trucks domiciled in Georgia, Florida, and Texas. In the 1980s Watkins added a dry freight division. Late Watkins moved into LTL and operated doubles with a sleeper operation. Watkins finally sold out to FedEx. Coverage in this book is from the 1950s thru the 1970s, which was the refrigerated era.

My husband, Dave drove truck in the U.S. for 40 years with over 3-million safe miles. He started taking photos of trucks as a young boy in the 1950s, inspired by his mother who took photos of his dad's trucks beginning in the late 1940s. He passed away in 2019. His wife survives.
