the photographs in this book were taken by the gisimba children at the 2006 photography workshop led by the author who also facilitated the first photography workshop at the orphanage in 2005. the sale of this book helps the gisimba children realize their artistic potential, develop marketable skills, publish their art, and THRIVE.

gisimba memorial centre is an orphanage on the outskirts of kigali, rwanda. over 200 children of all ages live, play, and love here. it is founded by internationally recognized damas gisimba who saved hundreds of lives during the 1994 genocide.
