About the Book
In November of 2008, we flew to Florida to spend a relaxing and interesting holiday. We wanted to experience the sun, sea, and sand for which the Sunshine State is famous. Southern Florida has a tropical climate, and we thought it would be a nice contrast to November in Ottawa. About 100 years ago, Florida was an inhospitable and largely undeveloped area of the United States. A lot has changed in that time and now 40 million visitors a year head to that state.
