About the Book
In June 2014 I visited Landschaftspark Duisburg-Nord just outside of Düsseldorf Germany.
The park has been developed from an old industrial complex where a number of blast furnaces stood making Pig iron. This park is now a leisure facility and a heritage site dedicated to Germany's industrial past.
As you digest the beauty of the industrial architecture, and climb the tower of the dormant furnace looking out over the peaceful landscape, you can only imagine the noise, heat and smells of this place in full production, and marvel at the stillness of it all now.
