About the Book
Tucked into Skerry Bay on remote Lasqueti Island, the mussel and algae farm of Gordon and Bruce Jones inspires a photographer with a state-of-the-art aquaculture enterprise clothed in the beauty of aging cast-off objects and surrounded by a magnificent marine environment. This book is a study of process, place and artifacts illuminating the life's works of these two brothers.

Photography is a second career for me, a return to a major interest of mine since childhood. It follows a successful primary career as a packaging designer and design firm executive in Manhattan. My photography seeks to demonstrate what I believe are similarities between photographs and consumer product packaging: both aim to tell a story in a confined space, to maximize the emotional impact on the viewer, to explain and to educate.
